About

You know when you start a new class and the teacher makes you stand up and introduce yourself? I know, such a dreaded moment.  But here I go!

Hi! I'm Aysia and welcome to Mothering the Mama.  I love to refer to myself as a nomad.  I was originally born in Brooklyn, New York but have since had the pleasure of calling many other places my home.   The current stop on this train is Maryland.  This is probably not the final stop and to be honest, I don't know if any location actually is.

As a now 20 something year old, I have had the pleasure of being called mom twice.  Once by my fur baby Gunner and second by my son Tate.  These two are my full time job and make the days simply magical.  As if I don't already have enough on my plate, I like to add being a nurse by profession and now a business owner on there as well.

"You can't pour from an empty cup"...

...but let's be honest, we all try to.  And with such a heavy load, I am no stranger to that game.  This blog is a little reminder for all of us, in this crazy thing called motherhood to not forget about us and our own self-care.

In starting this blog back in 2015 during my college years, I thought I knew exactly what this space was for; an emotional outlet.  And now many years later I use this space not only for me but for all my fellow mothers.  After using this space to connect with so many mamas I realized forgetting our self care and our desires is common to do.

I wanted to change that.

I wanted to provide a space for other mamas where we could come together in community and not only hold each other accountable to our self care but spend some time together doing our self care too.

Enter in: The Mama Program

This program is like no other. Using this motherhood community we have been able to strengthen the bond between mamas in the Tri-State area and beyond.

Motherhood can feel like such a lonely time and dark time, now it doesn't have to be.

In all things you do...

Take care of you too mama,

Aysia B.
